March, 2006 Monday evening, March 20th in Berkeley - Zero-Sum Theatre at Berkeley Rep PlayGround , a developer of new plays by Bay Area playwrights, and the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute have teamed up for a unique collaboration on Monday, March 20. PlayGround will present staged readings of six original short plays inspired by the topic " Zero-Sum Game" at Berkeley Repertory Theatre , beginning at 8pm. At 7pm, PlayGround and MSRI will present a pre-show panel discussion, featuring mathematicians Elwyn Berlekamp, Thane Plambeck, Aaron Siegel and MSRI Director David Eisenbud, entitled "Game Theory and the Theatre." The best six of these plays are presented as staged readings before a live audience on the third Monday of the month at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, featuring some of the Bay Area's best directors and actors. Pre-show discussions each month provide additional insight into the writers' process, the state of Bay Area theatre, and other aspects emerging out of the monthly topics. This critically acclaimed new plays series is now completing its twelfth season.
